U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said the first vote on a bill to fund American border security, as well as aid to Ukraine and Israel, is scheduled for Wednesday.

Chuck Schumer wrote about this on his page on the social network X (Twitter).

Without a bipartisan deal in the Senate, he says, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will push through Ukraine into Eastern Europe, and that poses a risk to American security and even to Americans.

— The Senate must take decisive action on this emergency additional funding for homeland security in the coming days. On Monday, I will take the first procedural step towards adopting this document in the Senate, and the first vote is scheduled for Wednesday, Schumer noted.

He noted that the agreement is aimed at overcoming the following challenges:

  • vital investment in US national security;
  • help to Ukraine;
  • help Israel defend itself against the forces that want to wipe out the Jewish state from the face of the earth;
  • assistance to civilians in Gaza;
  • humanitarian aid around the world;
  • support for Taiwan and other allies in the Indo-Pacific region against the Chinese Communist Party.

Chuck Schumer emphasized that this bipartisan agreement requires American leadership and decisive Senate action.
