In June, the amount of assistance to low-income families will not change.
And all because the cost of living, on which the size of the benefit depends, has not changed.

How to determine the cost of living for a family?
To calculate the cost of living for a family, you need to add the cost of living for each family member.
For example, for a family consisting of a mother, father and two children aged four and eight years, the cost of living in 2024 will be:
Living wage for able-bodied persons + living wage for able-bodied persons + living wage for children under 6 years old + living wage for children from 6 to 18 years old
That is, 3,028 UAH + 3,028 UAH + 2,563 UAH + 3,196 UAH = 11,815 UAH.
Thus, the amount of assistance to a low-income family will be the difference between this number and the total family income.
Currently, assistance to low-income families in Ukraine is:
- for able-bodied persons (55% of the corresponding subsistence level) – 1,665.4 UAH;
- for persons who have lost their ability to work (100% of the corresponding subsistence level) – 2,361 UAH;
- for children – 140% of the corresponding subsistence level (up to 6 years – 3,588.2 UAH, from 6 to 18 years – < strong>4 474.4 UAH);
- for persons from 18 to 23 years old (subject to training) – 140% of the corresponding subsistence level – 4,239.2 UAH.
What has changed in the allocation of assistance to low-income families since March 1
We would like to remind you that on March 1, certain changes to the Procedure for the appointment and payment of state social assistance to low-income families, approved by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 94 on January 26, 2024, came into force.
In particular, previously, assistance to low-income families in Ukraine could not be assigned if the family had able-bodied non-working persons or the unified social tax had not been paid for them during the previous three months before applying for this assistance.
Therefore, families of displaced persons who had lost their jobs due to displacement, and families of forced Ukrainian migrants who returned after a long stay abroad could not count on help.
That is why the government, by its resolution of January 26, expanded the possibilities of assigning assistance to low-income families.
After the changes are accepted, assistance for six months can be assigned:
- families returning to Ukraine after a long (more than 90 days) stay abroad;
- IDP families who, due to displacement, did not work or did not pay the unified social allowance.
However, in order to stimulate an economically independent and independent life, unemployed able-bodied members of the family who received assistance must either find a job or register with the employment center within two months after its appointment.
