At the Ramstein Air Base in Germany, a meeting of defense ministers from over 40 countries took place. They gathered to discuss support for Ukraine in the war with Russia.

Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak commented on the first results of the meeting. He noted that positive signals of unity are already being heard from Ukraine's allies.

The civilized world has united around our courage in the war for freedom against pure evil. Therefore, we will definitely win,” Yermak emphasized.

He also quoted Lloyd Austin, the US Secretary of Defense, who said that “heaven and earth will move” to support Ukraine.

Austin’s statement

The head of the Pentagon stressed that the resistance of Ukrainians inspires the world. Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, more than 30 allies and partners have joined the US to help Ukraine.

“Together, we have pledged to provide more than $5 billion worth of equipment to support Ukraine's self-defense, this includes $3.7 billion, which pledged to provide President Joe Biden to help Ukraine,” Austin said.

The US Secretary of Defense noted that the visit to Kyiv further increased his admiration for how the Armed Forces are using opportunities. Ukraine believes in victory. Everyone believes in it.

Austin stressed that Ukraine has courageously resisted the Russian invaders for 62 days. Russia is waging war because of the personal ambitions of Vladimir Putin. Meanwhile, Ukraine is defending its democracy and sovereignty.

Stakes go beyond Europe

The head of the Pentagon noted that the stakes go far beyond Ukraine and even Europe. Austin called Russia's invasion of Ukraine an attack against the rules-based world order. It is also a challenge against free people all over the world. That is why the countries united to support Ukraine.
