Russian chef Kirill Gryaznov planned to disrupt the Olympics in France, but alcohol got in the way. The recruited FSB agent got drunk and accidentally revealed his plans.

Now the French special services have already detained Gryaznov. During the searches, evidence was also found that allowed him to be accused of espionage.

The Russian FSB agent was “let down” by alcohol

Kirill Gryaznov is a famous chef in Russia. He is a media personality, having starred in various Russian talk shows, and not only culinary ones. However, Gryaznov has not only a media career, but also a spy career. His brother Dmitry works in a Russian government agency, in which there are many FSB agents. , in correspondence with the owner of the property, Gryaznov then stated that he was “working for his homeland,” although there was no evidence that the cook held any position in government agencies. In addition, in 2019, one of the generals of the military unit bought a plane ticket for the culinary specialist.

In 2024, the Russian secret service gave the “agent” the task of disrupting the Olympic Games in France. However, Gryaznov literally drank away his mission. So, on May 7, the chef and FSB agent was supposed to go to Paris with a transfer in Istanbul. However, Gryaznov was drunk, so they couldn't let him on the plane. In addition, he was blacklisted in Turkey.

Then Gryaznov had to look for other ways to get to France. He got from Turkey to Bulgaria by car, where, again in a state of alcoholic intoxication, touched by Bulgarian hospitality, he told random people that he hadn't just gone to Paris, but on a “secret mission”.

They will remember these Olympics for a long time! – Gryaznov threatened then.

In response to skeptical looks, Gryaznov also showed some kind of ID to show that he really was connected to the secret services. In front of witnesses, he also called someone and reported that he had hired another “agent” for the task.

Eventually, Gryaznov attracted the attention of the European secret services, and on July 19, the Russian chef and FSB agent were arrested in France. Now he faces up to 30 years in prison.

It is reported that during the searches, “diplomatic materials” and an ID card indicating his affiliation with “Unit V” of the Russian special services were found at Gryaznov's place.

France is not disclosing details about what kind of provocation Gryaznov was preparing. However, the French special services quickly brought charges, which indicates the seriousness of the crime. Now they are officially stating only that it was a “large-scale project” that would have had “serious consequences during the three weeks of the Olympics.”
