Russian authorities use prisoners as cannon fodder. They are left to scout Ukrainian positions on the front line.
Wagner PMC leader Prigozhin promises amnesty and “clean” documents to the prisoners. The occupiers are “led” to this. One of these prisoners was captured and told how the recruitment takes place.
Prisoners are used as cannon fodder
The prisoner “fought” in Ukraine 2 day – he arrived on September 21, and the very next day he was taken prisoner.
We are used as cannon fodder. Our commander sent us forward, at first we walked together, and then I looked back – they were very far away. Ordinary cannon fodder: to know where what positions are, who is standing where, – said the prisoner.
He added that when prisoners were recruited, they were told a completely different story.
Prigozhin personally recruits prisoners
The man also said that Prigozhin personally recruited them. He assured them that the convicts would fight side by side with “experienced” military men who would teach them everything. They also promised that they would not be thrown into the front line.
According to the prisoner, out of 1,200 prisoners, 267 immediately agreed to “mobilization”. A few days later, the occupier realized that in fact they had been deceived, and he would survive only by surrendering.
