Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico has responded to the possibility of a meeting between him and Volodymyr Zelensky, noting that it makes no sense because the Ukrainian president “hates” him.

– My meeting with President Zelenskyy makes no sense because he hates me. I speak my mind. But it is also important for me to communicate with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. I see no reason to meet with the Ukrainian president, – said Robert Fico.
Recall that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen previously presented a proposal for the 18th package of EU sanctions against Russia. She said that the new measures would affect Russian banks and the energy sector. In particular, this concerns a ban on transactions through the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.
However, on Monday, June 23, the Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said his country and Slovakia have decided not to support the new plan for the 18th package of European Union sanctions against Russia.
