There is experience in foreign policy: how the elected Harris vice president will influence her position on Ukraine Dzvenislava Moshovskaya

Kamala Harris has chosen the person who will become her vice president if she wins the upcoming US elections. It has been officially announced that it is Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Political scientist, executive director of the International Association of Small Communities Alexey Buryachenko told 24 Channel that the newly elected vice president from the Democrats is a positive candidate for our country. Perhaps he understands the real situation of Ukraine in the confrontation with Russia better than all the contenders for this position.

Tim Walz's Advantages

Alexey Buryachenko suggested that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz will share foreign policy affairs if the Democratic candidate wins the US elections.

Kamala Harris has little experience in foreign policy communications. But Walz does have such experience, he said.

The Democratic vice president served as a congressman for 20 years. He also successfully ran for governor. Walz has made quite successful diplomatic visits to China, and has also visited Ukraine and other countries.

“He is not focused only on US domestic policy, and perhaps this was one of the factors in Kamala Harris's choice of Tim Walz,” the political scientist noted.

Position on Ukraine

According to Oleksiy Buryachenko, Ukraine will be part of Walz's political rhetoric during the election race.

There were certain concerns about Kamala Harris's attitude toward supporting Ukraine, but by appointing Tim Walz as her vice president, her position could become more pro-Ukrainian, he said.
