Harlan won gold at the Fencing World Cup in Lima

On the night of February 11, Ukrainian Olga Kharlan defeated Sugar Katinka Battai from Hungary in the final match of the Women's Saber Fencing World Cup in Lima (Peru).

During the tournament, Harlan first defeated the Frenchwoman Sarah Nutscha (15:12), then — the current world champion in the Hungarian team, Lisa Pusztai (15:11), in the semi-finals — prevailed over American Elizabeth Tartakovsky (15:12).

In the decisive match, the Ukrainian fencer confidently defeated the Hungarian — 15:6.

— The decisive battle, in which Harlan faced Sugar Katinka Battai, was a repeat of last year’s World Cup final in Athens, but unlike March 2023, it ended with a convincing victory for the representative of Ukraine (15:6), — they say in NOC.

This is the 14th gold medal in Harlan’s career, and she has a total of 31 medals at competitions of this level.
