An IDF military operation is underway in the Gaza Strip, and a “hunt” has been announced for the leaders of Palestinian militants. Despite renewed fighting, Israel is still allowing humanitarian aid and civilian corridors through.

Necessary items for newborns were also delivered to the hospital where Hamas headquarters was located. However, as military expert from Israel David Sharp told Channel 24 , the militants have now already left the medical facility.

Smuggling in humanitarian cargo

Israeli troops very slowly approached the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip – Al-Shifa. More and more they even warned where they were coming from, so the militants were able to leave.

It was reported that 5 multicopters were found in one of the humanitarian aid trucks, even with night vision equipment. Everyone understands that Hamas uses part of the humanitarian aid, in particular, fuel and food. There are also attempts to smuggle goods into Gaza, said a military expert from Israel.

It’s even hard to imagine that when the Hamas battalion was semi-surrounded and lacking something, suddenly a truce was declared and the militants received food. Such facts work to strengthen Hamas. In addition, there are examples of specific smuggling.

“Multicopters are a very important weapon. It was discovered because humanitarian supplies are inspected in Israel before entering Gaza. I hope that such caches can be discovered, but technically it is very difficult,” noted David Sharp.

Today, Israel is under pressure from the whole world, which makes it even more difficult to conduct military operations. The demands on the country are also particularly high.

“Israel takes on even more obligations than required by international humanitarian law and more than Western countries have taken on in recent conflicts. But we have to act this way, maintain international legitimacy and go to the end,” summed up David Sharp.

Fighting resumed in the Gaza Strip: what is known

  • After several days of truce, the Israel Defense Forces resumed military operations. The reason was a violation of the ceasefire by Hamas. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said the results of the renewed offensive were impressive. He added that it was possible to destroy thousands of terrorists and dozens of enemy headquarters.
  • Israeli intelligence did not expect such a large-scale Hamas offensive and did not have the corresponding data. The United States said that they also did not know about the militants’ plans. Such statements were a response to a New York Times report. In it, journalists showed a document that described the assault and destruction of fortifications around the Gaza Strip, the capture of Israeli cities, as well as the assault on key military bases in the country.
  • The IDF has entered the southern Gaza Strip and continues its ground operation. The IDF Chief of Staff said that the IDF had eliminated battalion and company commanders and many Hamas militants. The operation in this territory should be no less powerful than in the north.
