The Hamas group is preventing the evacuation of Palestinians from the northern part of the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.
According to The Times of Israel, the IDF warned residents of the Gaza Strip that they must immediately evacuate from -for preparations for the upcoming ground invasion. About 1 million people live in this region.
According to the Israeli army, it has already been possible to identify hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who are heading along the main roads in a southern direction. However, some of them were stuck in traffic jams that arose due to Hamas checkpoints.

IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari noted that the Israel Defense Forces sees active efforts by Hamas, which is trying to prevent the population from leaving. According to him, Hamas terrorists want to create a human shield for themselves.
Haghari warned that the Israeli military is soon planning to intensively attack Gaza City, located in the Gaza Strip.
