Hamas reports numerous deaths and injuries in a strike on a refugee camp in northern Gaza. The militants blame Israel for the incident; there have been no official comments from the IDF yet.

It should be noted that following a similar attack on a hospital in Gaza on October 17, the IDF released evidence that the incident was the result of a failed Islamic Jihad missile. They added that they did not carry out any attacks that day.

What happened in Jabaliya

Hamas announced an attack on the Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza on October 31, with Palestinians claiming at least 50 dead and many wounded. The militants blamed the Israeli army for the attack, which, in turn, has not yet commented on the situation.

It is known that this is the largest of eight such camps in the Gaza Strip. As of July 2023, the UN has registered more than 116 thousand Palestinian refugees there. It is a small but densely populated area, covering only 1.4 square kilometers and mostly consisting of residential buildings. The camp also has 26 schools, a food distribution point, two health centers, a library and seven wells.
