A hacker attack on the largest Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar became possible due to the compromised account of one of the employees of this company.
This was stated by the president of the Kyivstar company, Alexander Komarov, on the air of the national information telethon One News.
According to him, the issue is not about supposedly vulnerable technologies, but about the fact that in any organization there may be people who conditionally target Russian missiles or give up their passwords because social engineers work well.

The Russian hacker group Solntsepek took responsibility for the cyber attack on the Kyivstar company. According to the Ukrainian Security Service, it is close to the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate.
At the first stage, Kyivstar managed to restore voice services for users of the mobile operator, and other telecommunication services are promised to be restored within 24 hours.
