A Ukrainian hacker group has made publicly available the data of 20 million Russians who are Alpha clients -jar”. Anyone can download the archive and personally view personal information of clients.

Hackers gained access to this information as a result of an attack on a top 1 bank in Russia in October 2023. It should be noted that this bank is owned by the sanctioned oligarch Mikhail Fridman.

Data is now online

Last year, the KibOrg team, in collaboration with NLB hackers, obtained the personal data of more than 30 million clients of the Russian Alfa Bank. The database contains information about the client’s full name, date of birth, account number and telephone number, as well as other data.

The table contains 115217571 records, of which approximately 38 million unique individuals and legal entities. The database has client records dating back to 2004, the hackers noted.

Alfa Bank immediately disowned the hacker attack, noting that the data was compiled from several random numbers . However, Russian media discovered that the data in the database was genuine. Kiborg also managed to call the owner of the bank, Mikhail Fridman. He commented on the break in the bank’s client base with the words “Well, let it be.”

“Alfa Bank” and Ukraine

For a long time, a branch of the Russian Alfa Bank operated in Ukraine – at first it worked under the brand of the same name, and later the bank changed its name to Sense Bank. However, on July 22, it officially became known that the nationalization of Sense Bank had taken place. Previously, the nominal owner of Sense Bank shares was ABH Holdings SA, registered in Luxembourg.

Owner Mikhail Fridman did not like such actions. He filed a lawsuit against Ukraine at the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) under the auspices of the World Bank in Washington. The oligarch seeks compensation from Ukraine of more than $1 billion for “illegal nationalization.”
