Thanks to the Russian portal “Pravosudie”, not only does the paperwork for court cases take place, but applications are also submitted to the courts through it, information is provided on the appointment and changes to court hearings, and consultations on court cases are provided.
— As a result of the cyberattack, personal data of users and internal documentation of the system were obtained. Now Russians report the impossibility of filing claims and viewing the time of court hearings, since the court websites are out of order, — informed persons in the special services said.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense added that the cyberattack was possible due to the lack of high-quality qualifications among Russian cybersecurity specialists. There were also so-called holes in the cybersecurity part of the Russian judicial system, in particular, due to the fact that the network was protected by Russian services Kaspersky Lab, Positive Technologies and JSC IVK.
As noted by Russian opposition media, the failure in the system began on the morning of October 7, and this primarily concerns portals on the domains sudrf.ru. In particular, the website of the Judicial Department was hit by a cyberattack.
Employees of Russian court press services told journalists that they had no idea why the court websites were not working.
The failure that affected the sudrf.ru domain and the Judicial Department websites occurred against the backdrop of a large-scale Ukrainian hacker attack on the VGTRK online services.
