Guards of guarding Elizabeth II elite regiment caught with cocaine

Soldier of Coldstreams guard, one of whose tasks is to guard the residences of Queen Elizabeth II, was caught in possession of drugs. On Friday, July 31, reports the Daily Mail.

According to the newspaper, the guardsman elite unit, was detained on Tuesday, July 28. Police found traces of cocaine in the dedicated guardsmen bathroom St JaME’s Palace, where the suspect served. After that, law enforcement has searched his room and car, and found among the belongings of a soldier of five bags of cocaine and four bags of ketamine.

In the British army confirmed the arrest of the guard, but from further declined to comment. Currently on the given fact investigation is made, the detainee is temporarily removed from service.

Coldstreams guard was founded in 1650 on the orders of Oliver Cromwell and is considered the oldest continuously operating an infantry regiment of the British army. The duties of the division, in particular, is to guard the palaces of British monarchs, including Windsor castle and Buckingham Palace.
