Now Google Pay will not work for Mir cards in Russia. The American company has stopped its pilot project.
This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov. He added that Apple also severed ties with Russian Mir payment cards.
“Apple removes Mir cards as an option in Apple Pay. Apple is expected to remove existing cards from the service in the coming days Meanwhile, Google has suspended a pilot plan that will allow customers to use Mir cards in Google Pay in Russia,” Fedorov wrote.
