Android 11 is now available for smartphones. This is reported on the website of the operating system.
The new version of Android includes a number of updates related to messaging between users, privacy issues and control over the management of gadgets. In particular, new notifications for chats from instant messengers have become available on devices, allowing you to correspond with users directly from the device's lock screen. It also became possible to highlight specific chats so that they are displayed on top of other correspondences and applications.
On smartphones that support the operating system, a screen recording function will appear with capturing sound from a microphone or directly from the device. Media controls have been moved from the notifications section to the quick settings panel for more comfortable selection of audio and video sources when playing content. Google officials said Android 11 phones are now wirelessly connected to the Android Auto platform.
The OS page says that the company has reworked its privacy settings. In particular, the user can configure which applications have access to the camera, microphone, device location. If the user does not open a certain application for a long time, the permission settings are reset. The ability to control smart devices was moved to a separate menu.
TechCrunch reported that the new OS will be deployed primarily on smartphones from the Google Pixel, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo and Realme series. Later, Android 11 will be available for download on almost all modern smartphones released in recent years.
