Polish Sports Minister Kamil Bortnichuk proposed to create a “team of refugees” from Russians and Belarusians, which performed to the Olympics in 2024. This can be seen as subtle political trolling from the Poles.
This opinion was expressed by political scientist Mykola Davidyuk on the airChannel 24. However, the main goal is to put pressure on the International Olympic Committee, which “plays corrupt games”.
Important pressure on the IOC, not a boycott
According to the interlocutor, that Russian and Belarusian athletes are more like Hitler Youth than athletes.

In particular, he accused the IOC of “selling” the opportunity to host the Olympic Games to autocratic regimes. The expert also thanked the Minister of Sports of Poland.
“It is a pity that our minister does not voice such initiatives. Thanks to the Poles, but I think that it is necessary to put pressure politically, and to put pressure on society, and other opinion leaders,” the political scientist emphasized .
According to him, the Olympic Committee is, first of all, about sports principles, which should be an alternative and a substitute for war. It is also “about the principles of winning athletes, and not the old functionaries embezzlers.”
At the same time, the specialist notes that it is impossible to boycott the Olympic Games. They say that Ukrainian athletes should compete and win, and it is the Russians who should withdraw from the Olympics.

Trolling the Polish Minister
The political scientist is convinced that the statement of the Minister of Sports of Poland Kamil Bortnichuk was trolling. With this, he wanted to demonstrate that there is an alternative to athletes from the Putin vertical.
Half of them generally train in CSKA – in the army sports club. This is a demonstration that Russia is trying to stitch the army together with sports and thereby kill the very idea of the Olympic Games in general, – Nikolai Davidyuk explained.
The Polish minister, in his opinion, demonstrates who is actually the victim of these sports military clubs. Therefore, this is good political trolling, but the main task is to pressurize so that there are no Russian flags or athletes at the Olympics.
