Evgeny Prigozhin, the owner of the Wagner PMC, offered the Russian terrorist Igor Girkin one of the positions in the assault unit. Previously, both had a public quarrel over the tactics of using mercenaries.
Russian opposition journalist Igor Yakovenko told Channel 24 about this. According to him, this whole story is just a publicity stunt. Prigozhin came up with a news story and once again increased his mentions in the Russian media.
No one will let Girkin go to the front
Yakovenko doubts very much that Russian authorities will allow Girkin to appear at the front. They can only do this for one reason.
The only reason Prigozhin will be allowed to take Girkin to the Wagner PMC to the front is to kill him there. I can’t imagine Girkin at the front against Ukraine,” says Yakovenko.
He stressed that Girkin is one of the most important witnesses in the case of the downing of the Malaysian Boeing in 2014. It was for this terrorist that they offered from 100 to 150 thousand dollars to those who would take him prisoner. Therefore, one should not rule out the possibility that even one of the Russian soldiers could pack it and transfer it to Ukraine for money.
Girkin is one of the main witnesses who can point to who specifically ordered the transportation of the “Buk” to the territory of the Donetsk region. Except for the commander-in-chief, whose name is Putin, no one could give such an order. At the very least, Grkin can point the way to Putin. That's why they won't let him go to the front alive. Except perhaps for recycling,” Yakovenko noted.
