As journalists noted, the Ukrainian side had previously tried unsuccessfully to independently purchase Patriot systems from the United States, and then turned to the German government.

The publication's sources said that Berlin is expressing concern that the US may reject Germany's request for two Patriot systems following information about the suspension of deliveries of some weapons to Ukraine.

According to journalists, this issue was discussed during a recent meeting of the German government, when it became clear that it was impossible to compensate for the cancelled arms deliveries from the United States.

But Germany and other allies intend to provide Ukraine with at least Patriot air defense systems from their own stockpiles, the publication claims.

Recently, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that at the working levels between Ukraine and the United States, all details on the supply of defense support, in particular the necessary air defense systems and assets, are being clarified.
