Germany is doing everything possible to ensure that Ukraine can obtain additional air defense systems.
This was stated by the head of the German Foreign Ministry, Johann Wadephul, during a press conference in Ukraine.

According to Johann Wadephul, today during a meeting with Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in the defense industry and to develop new joint Ukrainian-German enterprises. Germany wants Ukraine to produce weapons itself faster and in greater quantities.
“We are going in every possible direction. Of course, German industry is trying to increase its capacity. We are talking to our European partners,” Wadephul said.
The head of the German Foreign Ministry also noted that Berlin will continue to increase support for Ukraine. Thus, for 2025, the German budget has planned almost 2 billion euros for modern air defense and ammunition supply.
More air defense for Ukraine
Johann Wadephul noted that he constantly discusses with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius whether Germany really needs all the air defense systems that are in service, or whether it is possible to transfer some systems to Ukraine.
“We are trying to talk to the United States, and I think that we should also go down this path,” said Johann Wadephul.
