Germany will hand over the first IRIS-T to Ukraine
Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak said, that Germany will soon provide Ukraine with 1 air defense system.
The delivery of the first of the four promised IRIS-T air defense systems is planned, according to the German Ministry of Defense, Yermak noted.
< p>Recall that on October 8, German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht confirmed the provision of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Air defense is one of such industries where it is necessary to act urgently,” said the head of the German defense department.

These are short-range missiles equipped with a cooling infrared homing head. They are launched from their respective IRIS-T SLM launchers. The complex is designed to destroy aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise and ballistic missiles. The system has a range of 40 km and an altitude of up to 20 km.
