Germany has stated that Ukraine will not receive modern fighters. According to Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the potential transfer of aircraft is fraught with an escalation of the conflict with Russia.
However, military expert Yuri Fedorov is convinced that the motives are completely different. First of all, this is the unwillingness to help Ukraine completely defeat the Russian army. He said this on the air on Channel 24.
They want to save Russia
Yes, Germany is in favor of preventing the defeat of Ukraine. The country is striving that sooner or later, with the support of Western countries, we achieve victory over the aggressor. The only question, Fedorov says, is what her vision is. For Germany, the victory of Ukraine does not imply the complete defeat of the Russian army. According to him, the Germans want to keep Russia an important subject of international relations in Europe, a security factor, a supplier of fairly cheap energy resources.
Most likely, the point is not to deter Russia from the use of nuclear weapons – this is a greater task for the United States, but to preserve them, – the military expert suggests.
Such a vision encounters resistance from certain circles in Germany and the positions of the allies – Poland, the Baltic countries and other European countries. “This puts the current leadership of Germany in a rather difficult position,” Fedorov notes.
As for the supply of aircraft, the military expert notes, the decisive word belongs to the United States. We are talking about the F-15, F-16 and other types of weapons that Germany simply does not have.

Scholz is sure that it is possible to negotiate with Putin
