Germany provided Ukrainian specialists with access to closed energy facilities, equipment from which can be used in Ukraine.

The Minister of Energy German Galushchenko stated this on the air of the United News telethon.

If we want economic growth, if we do not want electricity shortages, then we must provide electricity locally — therefore, generation must be distributed, the head of the Ministry of Energy emphasized.

German Galushchenko recalled that last year the government adopted an energy strategy until 2050 and it states that Ukraine should have decentralized generation and develop nuclear energy.

Help is constantly coming from countries

According to the minister, assistance is constantly coming to Ukraine from European countries, including various equipment.

— We are now working very closely with our Lithuanian friends. Our group of specialists in Lithuania is now looking at what equipment at old thermal stations we could use as donors for restoration in Ukraine, for repairs in Ukraine,” the minister said.

German Galushchenko said that Germany also provides equipment for the Ukrainian energy infrastructure. For example, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz suggested looking at German closed facilities that could be used in Ukraine.

According to the minister, he and his colleagues constantly emphasize to Ukraine’s partners that we need equipment that can be new, used, or even in need of repair.
