In the second half, the Germans doubled their lead. Maximilian Mittelstadt passed the ball into the penalty area to Ilkay Gundogan, who sent the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal. For the German defender this was the second scoring action of the match. He assisted Musiala on the first goal.
Thus, Germany scored six points in two matches and advanced to the Euro 2024 playoffs early. Hungary has zero points after two matches. Quartet A also includes Switzerland (3 points after the first round) and Scotland (0 points after the first round).
