Georgia's failure to integrate into the European Union could benefit Russia.
This was stated by EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, The Guardian reports.
According to him, Georgia, without doubts, belongs to the European family.

However, Tbilisi has so far fulfilled only three of the 12 requirements that the European Union has put forward as a precondition for granting the country official candidate status.
& #8212; Russia will be very happy if we fail to integrate Georgia into the EU, — noted Borrell and added that “the European Union will not leave Georgia.”
He also criticized Georgia’s recent decision to resume direct flights with Russia, calling on Tbilisi to join the EU policy regarding Moscow.
Note that in June 2022, EU leaders recognized Georgia’s European perspective, however, to obtain candidate status for EU membership, Tbilisi must carry out a number of reforms.
