The Central Election Commission of Georgia has published preliminary results of the parliamentary elections Anastasia Kolesnikova

On Saturday, October 26, parliamentary elections were held in Georgia. Polling stations closed at eight o'clock in the evening and vote counting began. The Central Election Commission of Georgia has published preliminary results.

The exit poll results were published earlier. They were contradictory. Opposition channels reported that the opposition forces were in the lead, while pro-government channels reported that Georgian Dream had won.

How the votes were distributed

After the Central Election Commission processed almost 70 percent of the polling stations, it became known that Georgian Dream had taken the lead. She has almost 53 percent of the votes.

Next come the “Coalition for Change” (“Akhali”, “Girchi-More Freedom”, “Droa”) – 11.199 percent, “Unity-National Movement” – 9.805 percent, “Strong Georgia” – 9.04 percent, “Gakharia for Georgia” – 8.24 percent. Other parties do not overcome the 5 percent barrier.

By the way, “Georgian Dream” is pursuing a pro-Kremlin course. Under its rule, the anti-democratic law on “foreign agents” was adopted. Representatives of this party used banners with images of destroyed Ukrainian cities in their election advertising.
