— Among the persons against whom the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has initiated deportation procedures are foreign citizens who took part in the protests in Tbilisi in November and December and to whom the court imposed various administrative penalties — a total of 25 people, — the statement says.

According to the ministry, of the 25 people — 10 have already left the territory of Georgia. The department did not disclose the citizenship of these people.

According to estimates by public organizations and the media, of the approximately 450 people detained for administrative violations, more than 20 were foreigners, the majority of whom — Russians.

Recall that a new wave of protests in Georgia began after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced on November 28 that the country was postponing any negotiations on joining the EU until 2028.

Mass protests began on the streets of Georgia that same day, in particular in front of the parliament. The action continued on New Year's Eve.

On the 34th day of the rally, tens of thousands of people gathered on the streets of Tbilisi to protest against the pro-Russian policies of the authorities.
