Georgia and Moldova received questionnaires by candidate status
Thus, today the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement handed over the questionnaires at the request of the EU to Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and Moldovan Minister Nick Popescu in Luxembourg.
This is the first step on your European journey. We are ready to work with you very quickly in order to provide an opinion to the European Council in accordance with the request,” said Vargei.
After the authorities of the two countries answer the questions on the questionnaire, the European Commission will prepare a report and submit it to the European Council .
Note that Moldova and Georgia applied immediately after Ukraine, which made such a decision after the start of the Russian invasion on February 24, 2022.
