“A semi-dictator” was called President Volodymyr Zelensky by pro-Russian ultra-right candidate for the presidency of Romania Calin Georgescu.
This is reported by Digi24.
Despite the fact that the full-scale war in Ukraine was started by Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin, Georgescu accused Zelensky of “igniting the conflict”, which led to “destabilization of the European economy”.

— I have full empathy and respect for the Ukrainian people. We have opened our borders and the doors of our homes to our neighbors. However, I have a problem with corruption and the false attitude of politicians, particularly in Kyiv, he said.

In addition, the far-right politician noted that he has “problems with the behavior” of the Ukrainian president, whom he called “a semi-dictator”.
— I also have a problem with semi-dictators who put their own interests and the interests of the group they represent above the national interest. So I ask: why does Zelensky, like Iogannis (the current president of Romania, — Ed.), not allow free elections? Aren't they afraid? How many times has Zelensky asked for dialogue before asking for weapons? Not once, says Georgescu.
He also spoke about “Romanian territories in Ukraine” and ridiculed the reaction of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, which accused him of having ties to the Kremlin.
— I am glad to see the violent reaction of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, because it means that diplomats in Kyiv also felt what a statement that creates national disappointment sounds like. This is what tens of thousands of Romanians in Ukraine, teachers, families and everyone together, feel when they see that they, too, do not receive much respect for the language and history of the Romanian people, a people who opened their arms and hearts to waves of Ukrainian refugees, Georgescu concluded.
Recall that recently, in a conversation with media representatives, Calin Georgescu called Ukraine a “fictional state”. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry condemned the politician's scandalous statement.
The department also declared unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
It should be noted that in November, Calin Georgescu won the presidential elections in Romania in the first round. However, on December 6, due to Russia's interference, the results were cancelled, re-elections are scheduled for May 4, but according to polls, Georgescu is again in the lead.
