Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Marchenko returned to Nikolaev. Until April, he led the defense of the city. Now it will perform advanced tasks.

According to the head of the regional military administration, Vitaly Kim, Marchenko arrived in Nikolaev to strengthen the interaction between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Regional Military Administration. He spoke about this during an online briefing at the Ukrainian Media Center.
In addition, Marchenko must coordinate and strengthen the work of partisans in the temporarily occupied territories, including in the Kherson region.

At the end of June, Major General Dmitry Marchenko said that now it is impossible to stop the war in any case. The Armed Forces of Ukraine gained momentum and have a great desire. If the Armed Forces of Ukraine had enough equipment, they would have expelled the occupiers from Crimea.
The Major General said that with the temporarily occupied territories maintain a close relationship. In Kherson, Marchenko noted, there are people who “hid their weapons and are waiting for a signal.” According to the military, Kherson region will be fired from both sides at once.
No one is going to surrender, and no one is going to leave them. If anyone's thoughts run through, let's stop the war on this – no, this is our country, these are our lands! – said Marchenko.
However, in the Kherson region, the Ukrainian army really lost time and this allowed the Russians to gain a foothold. Now well-coordinated units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are working there, striking at the necessary points.
