The Gauleiter of Russians in Zaporizhia was declared suspected of treason/Collage of Channel 24
Gauleiter of Russians in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporozhye region, Yevgeny Balitsky announced suspicion of treason. This was done based on materials collected by the Security Service of Ukraine.
Gauleiter Balitsky is a collaborator and a traitor
According to the speaker of the SBU Artem Dekhtyarenko, Evgeny Balitsky is a former People's Deputy of the Regions. Since 2020, he has been a deputy of the Zaporozhye Regional Council from the pro-Russian “Opposition Platform – For Life”, and he perceived Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine as an opportunity to finally realize himself in politics.
He not only went over to the side of the enemy, but also enlisted his support for the forcible seizure of power in the region, the SBU noted.
With the help and assistance of the invaders, Balitsky forced employees of local government and public utilities to recognize themselves as the head of the “military-civilian administration of the Zaporozhye region.”
The collaborator did not just criticize the Ukrainian authorities and was looking forward to when Zaporozhye finally reigns “Russian world”. He cynically prepared celebrations for Victory Day, and also issued the so-called order “On the temporary organization of public order.” In it, residents were obliged to form “public detachments”, which should identify cases of anti-Russian activity.
This was enough to announce the suspicion of treason to the Gauleiter under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces 5 to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
