“Yesterday, a reconnaissance drone was operating over Kiev. This indicates that the air defense system is not working properly from a systemic point of view,” Samus said.
He added that despite all the “great successes, the reconnaissance drone cannot operate over the capital of Ukraine.”

What is known about the massive shelling of Ukraine on July 4
On the night of Friday, July 4, the Russian Federation carried out another large-scale air attack on Ukraine. As a result of the shelling, settlements in at least seven regions of the country were damaged. The main blow fell on Kyiv.
The shelling began shortly after reports that US President Donald Trump intended to hold a telephone conversation with Russian President Putin.
Russian forces used about 550 aerial targets. Of these, at least 330 were Shahed kamikaze drones, a joint Russian-Iranian production. Various types of missiles, including ballistic ones, were also used.
The air defense forces managed to destroy 270 air targets, another 208 drones were suppressed by electronic warfare (EW). In response to the attack, interceptor drones were deployed, which made it possible to effectively neutralize a significant number of enemy objects.
At least 26 people were injured in the strike in Kyiv, including a 10-year-old child. The body of one victim was found in the Svyatoshinsky district of the capital.
The air raid alarm in the capital continued throughout the night. Fires, explosions and destruction were recorded in six districts of Kyiv – in total, more than 20 locations were damaged.
