It was noted that Minister Klimchak is determined to understand the situation and plans to develop a mechanism for urgent actions that will eliminate the cause of the protests in joint negotiations with Ukraine.
In addition, Warsaw conveyed to Kyiv the demands received from the protesters.
They talked about:
- Ukraine’s improvement of the mechanism for border crossing by trucks that use the Ukrainian electronic queue system,
- exception from the obligation to register empty vehicles returning from Ukraine in this system,
- exclusion from this system of EU carriers, including Polish carriers, at their designated border crossing points.
As an alternative, the principle of reciprocity can be introduced regarding the period of stay of EU vehicles in Ukraine and Ukrainian vehicles in the EU.
Border blockade
Recall that carriers from Poland began blockading the Yagodin – Dorogusk, Krakovets – Korczowa and Rava-Ruska border crossing points — Hrebenne November 6.
Already on November 22, the organization Oszukana Wieś joined the protest and blocked the Szegyni-Medyka border crossing point.
Outside the blockade, only checkpoints for empty vehicles and checkpoints for light vehicles remained.
The protesters demanded the abolition of the visa-free transport regime with Ukraine introduced by the European Union.
