Ukraine will face a scarce winter in 2022. Due to the lack of gas, it will be necessary to save money.

Investment banker Sergei Fursa said this for Channel 24. He believes that it was necessary to start negotiations with investors much earlier in order to have a margin of time.
“What should Naftogaz do? Indeed, this situation is unpleasant and it was necessary to think earlier. It was necessary to decide issues with investors earlier in the coordination of the government and Naftogaz, because this is the responsibility of both parties,” Fursa said.
He added that it was necessary to agree on terms that could be identical to those of the state with investors on debt restructuring.
The US does not want to help with gas
Fursa doubts whether the US will help Ukraine in the gas issue, since Naftogaz has already received one refusal. In addition, it is technically difficult due to the shortage of gas in Europe.
According to Fursa, in order to help the Ukrainian government with gas, the Americans must have a very strong desire to do so. The problem is bureaucracy.
A year ago, Americans were very insistent: “Don't destroy corporate governance reform.” Secretary of State Blinken came to Ukraine and appealed to Naftogaz and urged not to destroy this reform. He was not heard back then. I don't think he's forgotten that,โ the investment banker said.
He thinks the price of gas is out of touch with reality. This is the result of the pressure that Russia is exerting by cutting off gas to Europe. Therefore, as Fursa said, the big question is whether it is worth buying gas, given such prices. /h2>
Ukraine is preparing for the heating season as one of the most difficult winters in our history lies ahead. Prime Minister Denys Shmihal said that Ukraine has asked the United States to help prepare for various scenarios.
