The Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) reported that the funding of pensions and social payments has begun.

When will social payments be financed in January 2025 and what is known about it
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on January 3, 2025, noted that this year the government will ensure financing of all priority expenses, in particular, pensions, salaries and all types of social support.

As of January 6, UAH 15.3 billion was allocated for pension payments, reports PFU.
So:
- 2.7 billion UAH was directed to payments through JSC Ukrposhta;
- 12.6 billion UAH was directed to payments through authorized banks.
Also, UAH 4,991.9 million was allocated for the payment of housing subsidies and benefits, UAH 1,329.9 million for insurance payments, including UAH 187.2 million for sick leave payments.
In addition, in January, 131 thousand services were provided to individuals who applied to the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Financing of social payments in January 2025: was there an increase from January 1
In 2025, most social payments remained at the level of last year, since their size depends on the subsistence minimum, which has not changed this year.
However, certain adjustments were made regarding assistance low-income families:
- for able-bodied individuals, the rate has been increased to 60% (previously it was 55%);
- for individuals with disabilities and those who have lost their ability to work, the amount remains at 100%;
- for children, it has been increased to 145% (previously 140%) of the corresponding subsistence minimum.
The amount of alimony has also not changed:
- for children under 6 years of age – 2,563 UAH;
- for children aged 6 to 18 years – UAH 3,196.
The amounts of social scholarships, which depend on the subsistence minimum, also remained unchanged compared to 2024.
In particular:
- children aged 6 to 18 years will receive – UAH 3,196;
- able-bodied persons will receive – UAH 3,028 UAH.
For minor orphans and children deprived of parental care, the amount of the social stipend is 4,794 UAH, and for adults – a little less, 4,542 UAH.
Although the basic amounts of social benefits have remained mostly stable, some categories have still received minor increases.
