Powerful explosions thundered in the Rostov region on the night of August 18. At first, Russians complained about a drone attack, and then – they reported a large-scale fire.

The governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev announced the fire after the drone attack. Interestingly, at first he declared the successful work of the “pe-ve-o”, but later it turned out that it was not so “successful”, reports Channel 24.

Golubev reported that around one in the morning explosions were heard in the Rostov region. According to him, the Pe-ve-o forces successfully repelled a drone attack in the west of the region. He added that now “the consequences are being clarified.”

Around 06:00 Golubev reported that the south-east of the Rostov region also repelled the UAV attack. However, the work of “pe-ve-o” was not so successful and a large-scale fire broke out.

As a result of debris falling on the territory of industrial warehouses in A diesel fuel fire occurred in Proletarsk. Firefighting units have been involved in extinguishing the fire, Golubev said.

Frames of a large-scale fire are already being published online. They show a thick column of black smoke rising above the city of Proletarskoye, Rostov region, and even tongues of flame.
