The SBU has detained a Russian agent who was preparing a missile attack on electrical substations in Western Ukraine. The FSB agent was detained in the Ternopil region.

The Russian agent collected information about the location of critical infrastructure facilities and the specifics of their work in the western regions. It is reported that he was interested in the locations and technical characteristics of local electrical substations.

He planned to transfer the collected information to the enemy in order to prepare and conduct a series of targeted missile strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities. The SBU exposed the attacker and detained him while trying to transfer intelligence from his smartphone to the invaders.

The traitor turned out to be a resident of the Kremenets district, whom the Russian special service recruited after the start of a full-scale invasion.

The SBU informs that the agent came to the attention of infidels because of his pro-Kremlin views. To carry out hostile tasks, he traveled around the area, established the location of Ukrainian energy facilities and recorded their coordinates.

The men used a telegram channel to communicate through the FSB. During a search, a phone was seized red-handed from the attacker in favor of Russia.

The office of the Prosecutor General clarified that the agent photographed 2 energy facilities in Ternopil and sent these photos to a member of the Russian special services. Law enforcement officers detained him when a man was taking 5,000 hryvnia rewards from a cache in a specified place.

The attacker was informed of suspicion of high treason, and the issue of choosing a preventive measure is also being decided.
