French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu said that his country will supply more shells to Ukraine and transfer guided bombs every month for a year.
He said this on the France Inter TV channel.
— From February 2022 to April 2023, we supplied 1 thousand shells per month. Since February last year — 2 thousand shells per month, and from January 2024 — 3 thousand shells per month, — said Lecornu.
Lecornu also announced deliveries of approximately 50 AASM Hammer guided bombs monthly, beginning in January, for a year. According to him, these medium-range missiles will be able to adapt to Soviet-class aircraft such as the MiG and Su that Ukraine uses.

The French minister noted that since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Paris has supplied Kyiv with 30 Caesar self-propelled guns. According to him, in the coming weeks he will deliver six more guns and will be able to produce 72 more before the beginning of 2025. That is only 78 for more than a year.
He noted that the Caesar cannon previously took 30 months to produce, but that has now been reduced to 15 months.
What is known about AASM
This is a bomb with a tail, control surfaces and a solid fuel motor. The latter allows you to increase the bomb drop range to more than 70 km, which is achieved by high-altitude drop.
It has a nose-mounted guidance system (inertial/satellite/thermal/laser), which significantly increases the bomb's range and accuracy.
AASM warhead can be 125, 250, 500 and 1 thousand kg. It also has an air blast function. AASM is similar to the previously transmitted JDAM.

In addition, Lecornu called for a distinction between promises and actual deliveries, stating that some countries “for political reasons have made many statements& #8221;. He added that France is proud that everything that was promised is fulfilled.
He didn't say who he was talking about, but he mentioned Germany, which refuses to supply Taurus missiles, even though they are the “game changers”.
Lecornu also countered that the Russian army had seized the initiative at the front, adding that Moscow would not win a war against Ukraine. The minister noted that the successes of the Russian army are limited to “two kilometers, chewed up here and taken back”. He added that although the counter-offensive “did not work, it does not give an advantage to Putin”.
