Four servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces who killed the Novus security guard in Bucha have been informed of suspicion.

These are two commanders, the soldier who loaded self-propelled artillery guns and senior reconnaissance rangefinder of the 1st self-propelled artillery battery as part of the 76th Airborne Assault Division of the Russian Federation. They are charged with committing a violation of the laws and customs of war, coupled with premeditated murder (part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code).

According to the investigation, on February 27, 2022, during the movement of a column of Russian troops along Bucha, a senior officer of a self-propelled artillery battery gave an order to subordinate Russian military personnel to identify everyone who was dressed in black clothes as enemies.
– Such an instruction to identify the enemy could lead to accidental civilian casualties, since many of them could wear black attributes. Due to the fact that the order did not respect the principle of distinction, the battery commander violated international humanitarian law. The Russian military, having received a criminal order, agreed to carry it out. At the same time, they relied on the principle of mutual responsibility in the military formation, said the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Soldiers of the 1st self-propelled artillery battery noticed a man near the Novus store in Bucha, who was dressed in black service clothes colors with the designation Security Novus. The security guard had no weapons and did not pose any threat to the occupiers.

However, in pursuance of the commander’s criminal order, they opened fire on civilians with automatic firearms. As a result of the actions of the Russian military, the man was wounded from which he died.
