Four men were injured as a result of the detonation of an explosive device on the bank of the Seversky Donets River in Izyum, Kharkiv region.

Explosion of ammunition in Izyum: what is known
The incident occurred in Izyum. A man picked up an unknown object, which detonated it. In addition to him, three more men were injured. All four were urgently hospitalized.

Rescuers note that the territory of Izyumshchyna remains one of the most dangerous in Ukraine due to significant mining by the Russian military during the occupation and counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The occupiers first carried out massive artillery strikes, and when retreating, they left behind a large number of mines and unexploded ordnance.
Police officers once again emphasize that it is important to be careful when in potentially dangerous areas. They call on citizens:
- if suspicious objects are found, immediately call 101 or 102;
- do not approach, touch or attempt to move dangerous objects on your own.
We remind you that according to the Main Directorate of Mine Action of the Ministry of Defense, from the beginning of the full-scale invasion until December 2024, more than a thousand civilians were blown up by mines left by Russian troops.
The largest number of contaminated areas were recorded in Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions areas.
