In Ukraine, the duration of power outages has noticeably increased, which was the result of a coincidence of four factors.
The head of NEC Ukrenergo Vladimir Kudritsky spoke about this.
Blackouts in Ukraine — what influences
Factor one. Russia continues to massively shell the critical infrastructure of Ukraine, which leads to new destruction in the energy system.

Factor two. The onset of heat and high outside temperatures significantly affected electricity consumption.
—Our average consumption per day is now significantly higher than what it was 2-3 weeks ago, — Kudritsky explained.
Factor three. It’s hot not only in Ukraine, but also in neighboring countries that import electricity to our country.
— That is, the import of electricity from European countries is now, let’s say, not at its maximum levels due to the fact that they do not have a lot of free resources to export it to Ukraine and thereby help balance the Ukrainian energy system, — emphasizes the head of the board of Ukrenergo.
Factor four. According to Kudritsky, a significant role is played by the repair campaign at a large number of power plants, which are scheduled to be carried out in the summer in preparation for the heating season.
— This repair campaign is needed so that in winter we have the maximum possible available power from our power plants, in particular nuclear ones, — he summarized.
