Chinese hackers have found a way to bypass the protection of smartphones and tablets Apple. For hacking use the built-in vulnerability in the processor devices, according to the website of the Agency for cybersecurity Digitpol.
Vulnerability told representatives of the Chinese team Pangu. The problem is with the processors SEP (Secure Enclave Processor), which are used in smartphones and tablets to store sensitive information. On the coprocessors SEP saved passwords, biometric parameters of the owner of the device, any private data to sign in to accounts for various services.
To hack uses an exploit Checkm8, with which earlier it was possible to install jailbreak on your iOS device. According to the hackers, the vulnerability allows to access to all private user information by using password guessing. Exploit Checkm8 bypasses the auto-lock gadget after ten incorrect password attempts, thus allowing the hacker to select the numeric code for unlocking the device.
According to experts, the hacking exposed to any iPhone or iPad based on the chips A7-A11. Thus, in the category of risk consists of at least all iPhones starting from iPhone 5s and iPhone ending with X. In this case to bypass the security, an attacker must gain physical access to the device.
Experts Digitpol stressed that the problem is incorrigible, that is, the vulnerability cannot be eliminated in software. Experts advised users to abandon issued in the period from 2013 to 2017 of smartphones and tablets, the American brand, or at least install on devices sophisticated digital passwords.
