The Hetman Vyhovsky Brigade recalled the events that took place on the night of February 24, when the Russian invasion of Ukraine began.
< p>Ukrainian defenders said that, despite the intelligence data, few believed that the Russian military would climb into Kyiv or Chernihiv.
They noted that they expected aggravations in the Donetsk region, where a more deterrent would be required. However, on the very first day, the Russians moved across the border simply in huge columns.
An episode that is remembered with laughter
Then brigade artillery covered one of the Russian columns. However, at the same time, another column of Rashists came in a different way.
Seeing the gaps, apparently, they decided that they were covering the “dill” and opened fire on the column. They answered, of course. So they fought among themselves and dispersed,” the Ukrainian defenders said.
In addition, the guys remembered that anti-tank crews with Stugnas performed well in the battle. They ambushed columns of tankers or armored vehicles. Mostly 1 – 2 units were removed from the tail and retreated without entering into close fire contact.
For more than a month, the Hetman Vyhovsky Brigade, together with other parts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, beat the Russians in continuous battles, not letting them go south, to the capital of Ukraine – Kyiv.
Important! Ukrainian defenders successfully eliminate the Russian invaders who came to our land. As of April 30, the total losses of the enemy amounted to 23,200 people.
