Or they took Western launchers and used Soviet missiles on them,” said the Minister for Strategic Industry of Ukraine Alexander Kamyshin at the forum in Davos.

— For the first time in history, an aircraft of this class, and even together with the air command post, were destroyed with lightning speed by the Air Force. Brilliant operation. The enemy lost a serious aircraft. This is an air-based radar – that’s how it can be described. This is an aircraft that scans the territory of Ukraine up to 600 km deep. They often operate in groups in the air. This helps the Russian Federation to identify air targets of any type on the territory of Ukraine,” explained GUR representative Andrey Yusov.

British intelligence noted that The Russian Federation has already launched a new A-50 aircraft instead of the downed one, but it is keeping it “farther from front line, which confirms the success of Ukraine”.

“Bavovna” in Russia

Explosions thundered in the Moscow, Leningrad and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation on the night of January 18 . Later, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported an attack by Ukrainian drones on an oil terminal in the Leningrad region.

The Main Intelligence Directorate has already stated that an attack on the oil depot will complicate the logistics of the invaders, since it is the one that provides fuel to the occupying troops.

— It is clear that when we are talking about an oil depot, which is involved in supplying the occupation corps with fuels and lubricants, this complicates the logistics of the occupiers, disrupts supply and supply schedules, and accordingly increases the time and space for maneuvers of our defenders,” explained Andrey Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

In addition, according to media reports, on January 19, a drone attacked the Tambov gunpowder plant in Kotovsk, Russia. The consequences of the attack are being clarified.

And the power steering stated that a drone strike on an oil depot in St. Petersburg indicates a “new quality” means of destruction.

— We traditionally do not confirm or deny, but simply state. “Bavovna” was in the Leningrad region before, but this time this is a new quality of “Bavovna” – both in terms of geography and in terms of weapons. And yes, the enemy has reason to worry about his military facilities, which are stationed in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region,” he said.

Providing assistance to Ukraine from the United States

January 17 US President Joe Biden discussed with members of Congress the need to continue to provide financial and military assistance to Ukraine. He called on congressmen to pass the national security bill as quickly as possible.

The US President said that the approval of military assistance to Ukraine is supported by the majority in Congress, but a negative voting result cannot be ruled out.

— I believe that the majority of members of Congress support aid to Ukraine. Question — would a small minority be able to block it, which would be a disaster, — noted the US President.

A January 19 The US Congress has approved a bill regarding government funding. This happened the day before the shutdown, which was supposed to occur on January 20. Calls to prepare for war

Threatening Chinese patrols near Taiwan, exchanges of fire between Iran and Pakistan, and further escalation between the US military and Houthi rebels — All this leads to more and more calls in Europe to prepare for a possible war.

So, the German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that in a few years Russian aggression against the country is possible — NATO member.

— We must take into account that (Russian President, — Ed.) Vladimir Putin may one day even attack a NATO country. Our experts expect this to be possible within five to eight years, — he said.

In addition, the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer stated that the Armed Forces of the military bloc are preparing for a possible war with the Russian Federation, but civilians should also be on guard as this will require significant changes in their lives.

— We must realize that peace is not a given, that we live in peace. And that is why we [NATO forces] are preparing for a conflict with Russia… But the debate is much broader. It's also the industrial base and the people who need to understand that they have a role to play — he explained.

Therefore, Bauer considers the actions of Sweden at the beginning of this month, which has already called on its population to prepare for war, to be correct.
