Former SBU officer believes that Russia may not be financially able to extend the increase in the army

Recently, the president of the aggressor country issued a decree to increase the size of the Russian army. There are many factors that could have influenced Putin's decision.

This Channel 24said Ivan Stupak, an ex-SBU worker. He also noted that, of course, the first reason is the war in Ukraine, because the Russian army has lost a lot: killed, wounded, missing, refuseniks and crossbows.

According to Ivan Stupak, the Russians understand that they really do not have enough human resources, now they are not even talking about an offensive – they need to at least maintain the positions they now occupy.

Another aspect is the additional territory where the border with NATO will pass, so we need to strengthen our presence there. The occupiers also need soldiers from where they took people to fight against us,” explains a former SBU employee.

“In fact, there are many reasons to increase the size of the Russian army. But the date of Putin's decree is January 1, 2023, they have no more than 4 months for this increase“, adds Stupak.

< p>According to the expert, given the last draft in Russia, they expected to receive more than 18 thousand conscripts, while they received less than 30%.

“All these conscripts need to be dressed and given weapons – we are talking about 137 thousand winter clothes, military agreements and exercises are also needed,” Ivan Stupak is convinced.

This is a very large economic burden and this is the question about whether Russia will pull out such a large amount of costs, he concludes.

Putin ordered to increase the readability of the Russian Army

The regular number of Russian military forces will be 2,039,758 people, including 1 150,628 military. That is, the staff of the enemy army will increase by 137 thousand people.

It is obvious that the Kremlin does not have enough “cannon fodder” for the war in Ukraine. So now even more Russians will feed the Ukrainian soil.
