Shot writes that the testimony against Starovoit was given by the former head of the Kursk region, Alexey Smirnov, who was arrested in a case of embezzlement of 1 billion rubles.

Putin signed a decree dismissing Roman Starovoit from the post of head of the Ministry of Transport without giving reasons.

Let us recall that Starovoit headed the Ministry of Transport in May 2024. Previously, since October 2018, he was the governor of the Kursk region.

His successor as head of the region was Alexey Smirnov, who was arrested in April 2025 on suspicion of fraud during the construction of fortifications on the border with Ukraine.

Now the Kursk region is headed by former State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein.
