Former military commissar Borisov was taken into custody again with the possibility of bail of 402 million UAH

The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has chosen a preventive measure for the former head of the Odessa Regional TCC and SP Yevgeny Borisov. The court took him into custody with the alternative of posting bail in the amount of 402 million UAH.

The State Bureau of Investigation reported this.

Borisov sent to pretrial detention center

As reported by Suspilne, the prosecution asked to send the defendant to pretrial detention due to the risk that he could hide from the court outside of Ukraine.

At the same time, the defense insisted on house arrest with the use of an electronic bracelet.

As a result, the court ruled to take him into custody with the alternative of bail in the amount of 402 million UAH.

Recall that Yevgeny Borisov was detained for the third time on December 25. This happened after bail in the amount of 39.364 million UAH was posted for him. Then he was informed of new suspicions under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • under Part 3 of Article 27, Part 1 of Article 114-1 — organizing obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a special period;
  • under Part 3 of Article 27, Part 1 of Article 366 — organizing the preparation and issuance by an official of a knowingly false official document.

The bureau stated that they detained Borisov after receiving information that the suspect planned to hide from the investigation after leaving the detention center. In particular, he planned to go abroad.

The State Bureau of Investigation recalled that Borisov registered a non-combat injury as a combat injury. Based on a false decision of the internal investigation and in accordance with the conclusion of the Medical and Social Expertise Commission, he was groundlessly awarded additional compensation in the amount of UAH 165,480 for April-June 2022.

Also, within the framework of another criminal case, based on the materials of the State Bureau of Investigation, the court transferred to the management of ARMA a house with an area of ​​857 sq. m worth €4 million and an office with an area of ​​223.9 sq. m worth €510 thousand in the Spanish resort of Marbella.

The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating a criminal case on suspicion of a former military commissar committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 27 and Part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — Organization of legalization of proceeds from crime.

Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation sent two indictments to the court against Borisov under the following articles:

  • under Art. 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — acquisition by a person authorized to perform the functions of the state or local government of assets worth UAH 142 million 927 thousand;
  • under Part 5 of Art. 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — failure to appear for duty on time without good reason by a military serviceman (except for conscript service), committed under martial law;
  • under Part 4 of Art. 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — evasion by a serviceman of military service duties;
  • under Part 4 of Art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — use of a knowingly forged document.
