A new formation from old acquaintances appeared in the Verkhovna Rada/Channel 24
Interesting parliamentary news yesterday – the creation of a new deputy group – “Restoration of Ukraine”. Since in the conditions of war our internal politics are almost on pause, this is already causing additional interest.
Judging by the information reports, people's deputies Igor Abramovich and Maxim Yefimov acted as co-chairs of the group. It included 17 deputies, mostly representatives of the former Opposition Platform for Life, which was recently banned.
Promiscuous businessmen
Almost all members of the new deputy group come from business. Former representatives of the Opposition Platform for Life, who were part of this group, at one time joined the Opposition Platform for Life purely opportunistically, in order to make it easier to get into parliament. were different. It was a political business.
Now they want to separate even from their former colleagues in the Opposition Platform for Life, who are trying to carry out a certain rebranding of this party. And that's right. It may be late, albeit as a result of dramatic circumstances for the country, but for some of these deputies, their previous mistakes also need to be corrected.
Loyal
For some of this group, this is another manifestation of the political situation , but now they understand that they need to show loyalty to their country.
I emphasize, not only loyalty to the authorities (with this, most likely, there will be no problems), but to the country and the state. And this should be not only purely formal loyalty, in particular, in the legislative process, but also active assistance to the state and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in those regions and sectors of the economy of Ukraine where these deputies work.
To punish or not to punish
Now there are many voices in favor of the fact that all former representatives of the Opposition Platform for Life should be demonstratively punished, deprive of deputy mandates. But, firstly, it is not so easy to do it legally correct. And this must be taken into account.
Second, we need to be flexible and differentiated. It is not necessary to divide everyone only into friends and enemies.
Those who sided with the enemy should be punished, and those who do not support their own state during the war should be asked.< /p>
It is better to make loyal partners from other former opponents (especially purely opportunistic ones) than to reject them into a hostile state.
If we act only on the basis of the imperative of intolerance, then this will only be in favor of the enemy and may increase its potential. And so the crushing of the former HLE and the loyalty of its former representatives to the state as a whole works for the interests of the country. Although it is necessary to continue to pay close attention to the activities of all these deputies. They must demonstrate by their deeds that they have drawn the right conclusions.
Information vacuum
In conclusion, about the information side of parliamentary affairs. When information about a new deputy group appeared, I tried to open information on the website of the Verkhovna Rada about this group, its composition, individual deputies included in its composition, but for some reason data on people's deputies, on individual factions and deputy groups are not open .
What's the matter here – is the site under reconstruction or was this information temporarily closed for the duration of the war?
I don't think this information is too secret, it eventually can be found in other sources. Therefore, the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada should deal with the work of their website.
