Former KGB agent explains why Putin is terrified of his dacha in Sochi Alexandra Sadovaya

Vladimir Putin is very afraid for his life. The Kremlin dictator no longer visits his dacha in Sochi. Moreover, the main building of the residence “Bocharov Ruchey” was demolished. The reason may be Ukrainian drones.

Ukrainian drones have begun to hit targets more than a thousand kilometers from Ukraine, and Putin does not believe in the power of Russian air defense, so he does not go to Sochi. This opinion was voiced to Channel 24 by former KGB officer Sergei Zhirnov.

They have come up with an alibi for Putin

Sergey Zhirnov noted that Putin used to spend up to 30 days a year in Sochi. There were also years when he spent almost 6 months there. After all, a copy of his office in the Kremlin was built for him in Sochi, so some of his speeches were from there. The dictator loved the Bocharov Ruchey residence very much, but now he is afraid to fly there.

Putin became afraid to fly there because when drones began to reach Olenya, which is 1,800 kilometers from Ukraine. Then there were strikes on Engels, which is also 600-700 kilometers from Ukraine. Ukraine has already proven more than once that it has the ability to hit Putin anywhere, anywhere, he said.

It has already been proven that Russian air defense systems do not actually work as they should. The Pantsir-S1 systems are deployed in Sochi. Even Putin doesn't believe in them, that's why he never visits the Bocharov Ruchey residence.

“I suspect that he was afraid, but he couldn't admit it to himself. The presidential administration came up with an alibi for him, that they needed to demolish this building and say that there was work there. It will all be rebuilt for about another 5 years. Therefore, if everything there is demolished, then there is no point in going there. Supposedly, he is not a coward who is afraid to go to some place,” the former KGB officer suggested.

Recall that the Proekt publication wrote that in 2024, Putin held only one meeting in Sochi. It was on March 6, when the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, arrived. In 2023, he was in Sochi for only 8 days, while before the pandemic he stayed there for 30 or more days a year. Also, the main building of Putin's residence “Bocharov Ruchey” in Sochi was demolished. Satellite images were published that testify to this. The publication's interlocutor, close to Putin, noted that he fears for his life and therefore stopped flying to the south.
